In a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 30, 2016, PECO Vice President of Governmental Affairs, Tony Gay publically unveiled 938 New Market Street, a new ENERGY STAR certified multifamily residential development in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia. The 15-unit building is equipped with energy efficient technologies, high-efficiency appliances, and a green roof.
Stull Investments, the developer behind 938 New Market Street, received over $7,000 from PECO New Home Rebates, which rewards builders who construct homes that meet ENERGY STAR standards or significantly surpass residential energy code.
Since June of 2013, 270 homes in PECO’s service area have received ENERGY STAR certification. “A significant number of builders in the PECO service area have started to recognize the benefits of building high-quality, energy-efficient homes, with help from the training and incentives that PECO New Home Rebates provides,” said Program Coordinator Andrew Dieck of Performance Systems Development.
As a program implementer, Performance Systems Development (PSD) supports PECO New Home Rebates, the PPL Electric New Homes Program, and FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania Energy Efficient New Homes Program, providing training and technical assistance to home builders and HERS raters across the state of Pennsylvania.
