This course covers the requirements of the Energy Rating Index (ERI) path\, as amended by Massachusetts\, and IECC “mandatory” requirements. This course\, specifically designed for HERS Raters\, reviews details of the ERI path\, including rating standard options\, renewable energy bonuses\, and verification and documentation requirements. It will also discuss every IECC requirement that is mandatory under the ERI path\, including envelope\, mechanical system\, service hot water\, and whole-house mechanical ventilation. The Stretch Code requires a completed ENERGY STAR Thermal Enclosure System Checklist\, and this course will provide a review of the items required on this checklist in comparison to the IECC Air Barrier and Insulation Installation Criteria\, which are also required. The course will also describe duct leakage testing requirements\, including IECC and RESNET 301 testing exemptions and related modeling issues. Finally\, the course will briefly touch on the alternative ERI path (ENERGY STAR Homes and Passive House)\, EV-Ready requirements\, and solar-ready requirements.

DESCRIPTION:To begin or maintain an active partnership with ENERGY STAR\, an organization must have at least one individual on staff who is a certified Rater and has completed the required training through an accredited training provider. Effective January 1st 2020\, Raters must complete the MFNC Version 1.1 Training prior to certifying projects in the new Multifamily New Construction ENERGY STAR program. This training meets this requirement\, and will earn you enough PDHs to renew your Rater Certification for 3 years! Test will be given following the final day of training. \nCONTACT US ABOUT GROUP TRAINING \nClasses will be Wednesday through Friday (10/26-10/28) from 10 AM EST to 2:30 PM EST. \nThe exam will be Friday (10/28) immediately following class and last 2 hours.

This training combines the ENERGY STAR Certified Homes Version 3.1 training with the Multifamily New Construction ENERGY STAR Version 1.1 Training required by January 1\, 2020. This training meets this requirement\, and will earn you enough PDHs to renew your Rater Certification for 3 years! \nENERGY STAR Certified Homes – Monday & Tuesday (10/24-10/25). The exam will be on Tuesday (10/25) following the class. \nENERGY STAR Multi-Family New Construction – Wednesday through Friday (10/26-10/28). The exam will be on Friday (10/28) following the class. \nClasses daily from 10 AM EST to 2:30 PM EST. Exams will be from 2:30 PM EST to 4:30 PM EST
