VIDEO VIEWING IS REQUIRED! \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION\nRelevant market research\, including the DOE Residential Field Study\, revealed significant noncompliance with 3 ACH50\, and multiple other field studies in nearby geographies and uncovered lack of proper insulation installation. This webinar training covers air sealing\, air barriers\, blower-door testing\, identification of potential leakage sites in CAD details\, 3D graphics\, and photographs\, for single family residential including other issues\, such as party walls\, in low-rise multifamily. This webinar is Part 1 of a two-part series on energy code envelope requirements. Both webinars include test-your-knowledge questions\, and guided discussion of pros/cons of various strategies. \nLearning Objectives:\n1. Understand how to review\, install\, and inspect details necessary to achieve an envelope leakage rate of 3 ACH50 or less\n2. Differentiate between several air sealing techniques\n3. Identify and resolve common leakage areas\n4. Understand code requirements for air sealing from the 2020 ECCCNYS Table 402.4.1.1 Air Barrier and Insulation Installation.

DESCRIPTION:NYSERDA Energy Code Training provided by Performance Systems Development \nResidential – Electrifying the Energy Code T02-07-3133 \nCOST:\nFree registration for New York Code Officials.*\nUse discount code: NYCEO\n*For use by New York Code Officials only.\nAll Others: $15.00 \nCONTINUING EDUCATION:\nArchitects: 1.5 AIA LU | HSW\nHome Performance Contractors: 1.5 BPI CEUs\nCode Enforcement Officials: 1.5 NYS DOS In-Service Hours \nTo receive credit\, participants must log into the GoToWebinar application within the first 15 minutes of the training and stay until the end of the webinar. VIDEO VIEWING IS REQUIRED! \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION\nFollowing an introduction to the benefits of electrification\, this course will review the requirements of IECC Appendix RA (Solar-Ready Provisions) along with related requirements including mandatory access and set back areas required by the Fire Code of New York State in Section 1204 Solar Photovoltaic Power Systems. The course will walk through several examples and ask attendees to determine whether the solar-ready provisions apply to a particular building\, given its type\, orientation\, roof design and other considerations. The course will also review examples of how to fit in the required solar ready zone considering obstructions and required setbacks. Example documentation will also be reviewed. Finally\, the course will cover the electric vehicle service equipment capable requirements of NYStretch and how adopting these provisions will help with the electrification of New York’s transportation system. \nLearning Objectives\n1- Describe the concept of beneficial electrification\n2- Identify and describe energy code provisions that promote beneficial electrification\n3- Understand relevant requirements from the Fire Code of New York State\n4- Describe the various systems involved in NYStretch and IECC Appendix RA
