SUMMARY:R1.2 - 3rd Party Residential Energy Code Verification
DESCRIPTION:Make sure to use the GoToWebinar link to obtain video access\, this is required and verified for CEU credit. VIDEO VIEWING IS REQUIRED! \nCEU’s: 1 AIA\, 1 BPI\, 1 CSL\, 1 Building official \nResidential Webinar – 3rd Party Residential Energy Code Verification \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION:\nEmployee BadgeBuilding inspectors cannot directly verify every aspect of the code\, but luckily\, there are experienced energy professionals who can provide verification of the most important energy code requirements. This course covers critical documentation including reports for ERI/HERS\, the Simulated Performance Alternative\, mechanical ventilation airflow\, duct leakage testing\, and blower door testing reports\, and air barrier and insulation installation checklists. The presenter will review example verification forms\, interpreting essential data\, and keeping track of this information with a one-page checklist. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES:\n-Permit Application Requirements\n-Information required on Construction Documentation\n-Mass Save Energy Code Checklist\n-Third-Party Verification\n-REScheck\n-Air Infiltration Reports\n-Ventilation Verification\n-Duct Leakage Reports\n-HERS\, ENERGY STAR & Passive House Reports

SUMMARY:C2.3 - Commercial COMCHECK and your existing Buildings
DESCRIPTION:Make sure to use the GoToWebinar link to obtain video access\, this is required and verified for CEU credit. VIDEO VIEWING IS REQUIRED! \nCEU’s: 1 CSL\, 1AIA\, I BPI\, 1 Code Official \nCommercial Webinar – C2.3 Commercial COMCHECK and your existing Buildings \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION:\nCommercial renovation projects dominate permit request applications across the Commonwealth and hold tremendous opportunity for energy savings via energy code compliance. In many cases\, designers\, builders\, and code officials overlook elements with energy code implications. Designers can document commercial renovation projects using COMcheck in a similar manner to new construction projects and this will address how COMcheck is used to meet permit application requirements for renovation projects. The takeaways from this course will include how to determine what constitutes an addition\, alteration\, or repair\, how the energy code applies to change-of-occupancy and change-of-use\, and code exceptions for commercial alterations. This is followed by a demonstration of how to use COMcheck software to show compliance for additions\, alterations\, and repairs.

SUMMARY:R3.1 - Residential Air Barrier and Insulation Installation (PRIVATE EVENT - MVBA)
DESCRIPTION:Remote Training – Remote Learning – MVBA Katrina Lima – katrinaad20@gmail.com  \n1 CSL – LU/HSW  \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION:   \nThe installation of a continuous air and thermal barrier is perhaps the best and most cost-effective way to reduce energy waste and save money on utility bills; at the same time\, important details are often missed. This course will be framed around the 2018 IECC Air Barrier and Insulation Installation criteria found in Table 402.4.1.1 with photos and graphics to illustrate noncompliant and compliant installation of critical details like attic penetrations\, wall-to-ceiling transitions\, rim joists\, garage walls\, knee walls\, and tubs and showers on exterior walls. Installing and inspecting insulation to meet code and manufacturer requirements will also be discussed.   \n  \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES:  \nLearning Objective 1:  \nDiscuss the importance of air barriers in a home  \nLearning Objective 2:  \nIdentify the Massachusetts residential energy code requirements for air barriers  \nLearning Objective 3:  \nIdentify the Massachusetts residential energy code requirements for insulation  \nLearning Objective 4:  \nExplore the 2015 IECC Table R402.4.1.1 and how it applies to new construction
