SUMMARY:R2.2 - Equipment Sizing Manual J & S
DESCRIPTION:Make sure to use the GoToWebinar link to obtain video access\, this is required and verified for CEU credit. VIDEO VIEWING IS REQUIRED! \nCEU’s: 1 AIA\, 1 BPI\, 1 Code Official \nResidential Webinar – Equipment Sizing Manual J & S \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION:\nAccording to the 2015-16 study on single-family residential homes\, only 14% of homes meet the code requirement of designing mechanical equipment based on ACCA Manual S and Manual J. This course covers Manual S requirements and why following Manual S would not only lower energy bills\, but also increase comfort. The discussion will include the ACCA design process\, Manual J load calculation process & modeling\, which is the first step in sizing equipment properly\, Manual S over-sizing provisions\, available software tools to carry out Manual S calculations\, and ends with a case study demonstrating how the Manual J and Manual S process works. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES:\nLearning Objective 1:\nProvide background on the Air Conditioning Contracts of America (ACCA) \nLearning Objective 2:\nDiscuss the purpose and use of ACCA Manual D \nLearning Objective 3:\nDiscuss the purpose and use of ACCA Manual J \nLearning Objective 4:\nDiscuss the purpose and use of ACCA Manual S

SUMMARY:C4.1 - Documentation for Commercial Energy Code Permit Applicants
DESCRIPTION:Make sure to use the GoToWebinar link to obtain video access\, this is required and verified for CEU credit. VIDEO VIEWING IS REQUIRED! \nCEU’s: 1 AIA\, 1 BPI\, 1 Code Official \nCommercial Webinar – Documentation for Commercial Energy Code Permit Applicants \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION:\nA significant barrier to energy code enforcement and verification in Massachusetts is the poor documentation of those code requirements on plans and permit application materials. This energy code documentation module will run through what code officials should ask for\, and what designers or other permit applicants (GCs\, builders) should submit\, in terms of proper documentation for permit applications. Attendees will be given a draft “Commercial Building Minimum Documentation Checklist” to work with along with the presenter\, and feedback will be solicited to the final version of this checklist. This session will walk through the “Minimum Documentation” checklist\, COMcheck reports and checklists and the reasons behind their requirement by the code and their best usage in plan review and site inspection.
